How to Prepare

The six months of planning before you take office is crucial to achieving the objectives you set out for your club. During this time, you should:

Know Your 'Why'

  • Why did you join Rotary?
  • Why have you continued to be involved?
  • Why did you agree to move into club leadership?

Know Your 'What'

What is your vision and what do you want your IMPACT to be?

Administrative Preparation

  • Register for a My Rotary account (Join My Rotary) for Rotary Club Central access.
  • Ensure your email address and phone number are up to date.

Training & Learning

  • District 5790 Pre-P.E.T.S and LoneStar P.E.T.S
  • Club Leadership Training (Formerly District Assembly)
Between Pre-P.E.T.S. and P.E.T.S., assess your club’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks in order to set goals.

Goal Setting - Rotary Club Central (RCC)  

Set attainable and challenging goals in Rotary Club Central. Your Assistant Governor can assist with this. Goals should include:
 
  • Annual Fund – SHARE giving 
  • PolioPlus giving
  • Membership growth
  • Service impact goal
  • Public Image
  • Fundraising goal

Club Leadership Preparation

Appoint committee chairs and update in My Rotary (Add club officers)

March 1, 2026 – Lone Star PETS (GMTS Full Session Only)
April 18, 2026 – Club Leader Training (GMTS Renewal Only) 
 
Full Rotary Grant Qualification Requirements: 
  • Submit Memorandum of Understanding 
  • Submit DAP Grant / Environmental Grant LOI – Deadline April 18 
  • Submit IRS Form 990 
  • Enter Annual Fund & PolioPlus goals in Rotary Club Central – Deadline May 31 
  • Ensure all Rotary International & District 5790 July 1 dues are paid 
  • No overdue grant reports
