Plan to Attend this Screening
UNT campus - UNT building GAB room 104
on March 29, 2018  from 6-8:30pm

UNT Rotaract is hosting a screening of the movie "Spirits' Homecoming" which is a Korean drama that uncovers the horrors of the use of Comfort Women by the Japanese Imperial Army in WWII. Comfort women were young girls from all over eastern Asia that were taken from their homes and forced into sex slavery for the Japanese military.
Since the first comfort woman to speak out in 1991, the Japanese government has denied all accounts and claim that the women involved were paid, willing prostitutes. Currently there are movements taking place to put pressure on the the Japanese government to recognize these war crimes and publicly apologize. This screening is meant to raise awareness for this movement as well as the modern forms of sex trafficking that are ever so prevalent in our own community. Representatives from Denton County Human Trafficking Coalition will be speaking after the film to educate about modern sex trafficking, how to recognize it, and ways to report and stop it. The screening will be on UNT campus on 3/29/18  from 6-8:30pm in the UNT building GAB room 104. Feel free to bring friends and family to this event. Awareness is key with issues like these so we hope to see you there!

Thanks again!
