Congratulations to our own District 5790 PDG Paul Geisel who will be riding on the Rotary Float with RI President Sakuji in this years Rose Bowl Parade! Be sure to watch the parade and perhaps catch a glimpse of Paul waving at you.

No Rotary International funds are used to build the float. Only donations from fellow Rotarian s like you. It is not to late to donate. Go to www.RotaryFloat.org.

It's your donations that made it possible for Paul to be nominated as a participant. But it was Paul's service to Rotary and humanity that made his selection possible. Prior to the parade, he will be interviewed by media from around the world. The local stations and newspapers will be using feeds from the interviews in the local coverage. This is an opportunity for our local clubs and Rotarians to increase our public awareness. If you have anyone in your club in a media field, alert them to watch for anything about the Rose Parade and Paul's selection. Of the over 1,230,000 Rotarians in the world, only 12 will be participating with the float.

Paul will be representing our district. It's not too late to send something to help fund the Rotary float this year. If every club or a Rotarian from every club in our district would send a contribution, that would make him sponsored by the entire district. No amount is too small or too large. Contributions can be made online at  RotaryFloat.org. There are links to information about the float and all the work that goes into it year round. The list of donors will be updated after the parade.

Thank you for your help in creating public awareness for Rotary International. This opportunity wouldn't be possible without Rotarians and clubs around the world supporting it each year.
