WE ACT
TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to spread, more individuals, communities, and entire nations are feeling the impact in their daily lives. Beyond the global health crisis, the coronavirus is having a severe economic impact on individuals, small businesses, and medical organizations. In addition to the impact on business and healthcare, local soup kitchens are serving more folks in our community.

Ten days is all it took from idea to completion. $161,000+ was raised to help fund needed hospital items, and to restock food pantries in our Rotary District 5790. Contributors to our Reverse Global Grant include Districts 5870 in Austin and District 9810 in Australia (our global partner), plus Rotary International and a great many clubs and Rotarians within our own District. When our Foundation Grant Committee first met, we hoped that $25,000 could be raised to provide this needed assistance. Ten days later a $161,000 grant application was signed, sealed and delivered to Rotary International, we are now awaiting approval.  Big shout-out to grant sponsor, the Rotary Club of Arlington for it's huge financial commitment and grant writing skill!  Each and every Rotarian in the world is making a difference, and at D-5790 each and every one of us do as well. Rotary Connects The World!
