Larry Dimmitt has been a member of the Downtown Topeka Rotary Club since 1983. He served on the club’s board of directors, and has held several club offices, including president in 2001-02. He was honored as “outstanding club president” in the district. He helped start an Interact Club at Topeka High School in 2001, and helped charter two new Rotary clubs in 2003. Larry was an Assistant Governor for three years and was chair of the Heartland Multi-District PETS. He served as District Governor in 2006-07. He was District Foundation Chair for three years, and served as District Annual Programs Fund Chair. He also served as Zone 27 Rotary Foundation Alumni Coordinator and currently serves as Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator. He also currently serves as Paul Harris Society Coordinator for Zone 27 and has been selected as Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for 2014-17. 
He has been on four service missions to Panama, and has prepared numerous international grant applications, including those for India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. He and Lois have been Rotary International President’s representatives on two occasions. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, a member of the Bequest Society, a member of the Paul Harris Society, a Major Donor and actively supports the Topeka Rotary Foundation. He has been awarded the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service.
Larry is originally from Kansas City, Kansas. He is a graduate of Kansas State University and Washburn Law School. He is retired from AT&T where he served as General Attorney. Thereafter, he served as an adjunct professor at Washburn Law School. Larry lives in Topeka with his wife, Lois. They have two grown children, Cindy and Michael.
Larry’s hobbies include collecting vintage musical instruments, playing the guitar and banjo, genealogy research and relaxing on their farm property near Topeka. He and Lois enjoy traveling, and have been to ten International Rotary Conventions.
