Congratulations Jerry Rogers!
From Left to Right, DG Mary Ann McDuff, Jerry Rogers, AG Eileen Standridge and Bowie President, T Jay McEwen
During her annual club visit, District Governor Mary Ann McDuff, Assistant District Governor Eileen Standridge, and Bowie Club President T Jay McEwen presented Jerry (JR) Rogers with his certificate as one of the club’s newest Paul Harris Fellow Rotarians.
A Paul Harris Fellow is recognized for a donation of $1,000 or more made by or on behalf of a Rotarian to the Rotary International Foundation. The Foundation uses these funds for international projects to enable Rotarians to advance Rotary objectives of world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty through projects such as Polio Plus (to eradicate Polio worldwide), water filters and hygiene training, insecticide treated mosquito nets to prevent malaria, vocational training, and peace building seminars. The Bowie Rotary Club has been a 100% Paul Harris Fellowship Club (100% of members are Paul Harris Fellows) since 2014-15 when then Club President, Kelly Parr, made this one of her accomplishments. JR’s certification continues the Bowie Club’s 100% record.
